So many things to do in Japan

In addition to enjoying his time with Grandpa and Grandma, Massimo enjoyed many other things in Japan.

Unlike New York, Japan has so many play areas where Massimo had the opportunity to meet new friends...

Or be the conductor of his very own train...next stop Tokyo!

Or play in the snow (did I mention there was a LOT of snow!)...

So much snow that Massimo had his very own backyard snow mountain (a monumental 1 meter high) that was custom built by Grandpa and Papa so Massimo could experience his first ride on a sled...

And there was even time at the onsen to have a lesson in safty by Grandpa...be careful

Northern Japan with lots of snow!

The trip up to Grandpa and Grandma's house was fun. Massimo saw the snow covered mountains from the plane and got very excited. Everyone else on the plane was not so excited though because there was so much snow and fog that the plane had to be diverted to another nearby airport.

But, eventually we did get to our destination...and Grandpa and Grandma were VERY happy.

And as you can see, Massimo was very happy too.

Mini amusement park in Ginza

Mama needed to do some shopping in Ginza one day so Papa and I found this tiny amusement park on top of a department store. How great is that? While Mama bought stylish boots and sweaters that fit her perfectly, I enjoyed two hours of play time with all these fun rides and games...and by the end I needed a nap.

All aboard the Shinkansen...

An Anpanman car, how cool!

I don' have any idea what this says but it's fun to swing this soft hammer...

All these crazy lights and stuff - I'm getting sleepy...

Toys R Us in Odaiba is GREAT!

The Toys R Us in Odaiba was a great place to pick up some gifts. Massimo got a few educational DVD's and CD's, like this one with Anpanman available at Amazon.

Massimo also got some new books to take home and some Japanese veggie snacks to eat between meals...yummy!

And when he saw the toddler bikes and toy cars he couldn't resist...

Wow a police car...I want to catch the bad guy.

Ooh, I wonder if this one will fit in my luggage?

More of Massimo in Odaiba

As mentioned in the previous post there are many things to do in Odaiba both inside and outside. It was a little chilly while we were there (still much warmer than New York) but we all dressed warmly and enjoyed lots of holiday lights, festive trees, and a mini Statue of Liberty. I didn't get to go to the nearby Museum of Science and Innovation - but maybe next year. It looks like a lot of fun but I guess Mama and Papa think I am a little too young.

I did get to see a cheery looking Buddha...hey, shouldn't I take off my hat while I am up here?

And posed next to Ronald McDonald for my new Japanese fans...

As well as the camera.

Massimo in Odaiba, Tokyo

This is Massimo on his first day spent in Odaiba. As you can see, he couldn't wait to get outside and see all the sights. So much so he made his way up to the big window over looking the water and started tapping the glass. We quickly got the idea and headed out to see the sights including a mini version of the Statue of Liberty and Aqua City (a great place for kids to play and parents to shop).

Here you can see Massimo in his slim corduroy pants from Old Navy (most pants for boys his age are so big on him they would make him look like a clown, but Old Navy - Boy's Department
has some very good pants that fit his slim body well) and Ciao Bimbi shoes. Ciao Bimbi makes some very fashionable Euro-style shoes for kids and these are a great example. The brown and green color combination go great with many color pants and tops. These Ciao Bimbi shoes were found at Daffy's in Manhattan (Ciao Bimbi has its own web site here but it is in Italian so try Zappos or Daffy's for the latest styles - unless of course you speak Italian!).

Massimo ready to board JAL to Japan in his stylish mini UGG boots

Massimo was very excited to board the airplane. As a matter of fact, he kept saying "airplane, airplane" over and over again - and now says it well. As you can see from his excitement, if he could have jumped through the window and landed on the nose of the plane he would have. In hindsight, he probably would not have been so happy if he knew he would be spending 13 hours inside the airplane with no where to run and play...hahaha.

Anyway, Massimo is dressed in a warm hooded sweater and pants along with his Mini UGG boots (which unfortunately were cut off in the photos). These boots are not only warm with their thick sheepskin lining and soft leather outside, they are also very stylish and absolutely adorable.

Clicking on the link below will take you to Amazon to check out their selection of UGG shoes or you can use the UGG icon in the right margin.
